    "Food and Drug" affirms: Central clearance mechanisms are in line with "Vision 2030" to achieve excellence and improve service

    ​​​An official at the Food and Drug General Authority stated that the central clearance of products subject to the authority’s control through the various border outlets supports the principle of achieving distinction and upgrading the level of government performance, in line with (Vision 2030) aimed at raising the level of the Kingdom’s ranking in the cross-border trade index, by reducing the clearance period that cooperates In it, the authority with the Saudi Customs Authority to achieve one of its most important strategic objectives is to facilitate trade exchange and achieve customer satisfaction.

    The Chairman of the central clearance in the eastern sector of the authority, Fahd bin Awwad al-Sharari, said during a workshop organized by the Asharqia Chamber on Monday 25 / January / 2021 through a direct transmission that among the objectives that the authority seeks through the implementation of the central clearance mechanism is to reduce the procedures and speed of decision-making, and that is through presence And work in the outlets around the clock (even on holidays and annual holidays), and standardize procedures in all outlets, even those in which the authority has no center in them, which achieves a reduction in the time it takes to clear missionaries. Note that the authority is present in 16 border outlets in the Kingdom in general. 

    He added that the (clearance operations mechanism) at the outlets is based on the executive regulations of the food system (Resolution No. 3/16 / 1439) dated 9/4/1439 and the executive regulations for the system of pharmaceutical facilities and preparations No. (103542/1/12) dated 6/18/1426, Regulation for the Control of Medical Devices and Products No. (4/16/1439) dated 9/4/1439 AH, confirming that “through the application of a unified procedure for clearing all products subject to the supervision of the authority and imported through the border outlets, based on technical standards for studying risks, requirements and requirements that must be met at the clearance stage.​

    He listed several challenges that cause the delay in the clearance process, which will be bypassed through the implementation of the central clearance mechanism, including failure to fulfill the requirements for clearance (not attaching the documents required for clearance and providing the clearance agent with them, or the presence of quality logos on the product without attaching certificates proving this. Or importing non-labeled products in the Arabic language, etc.
    It is noteworthy that the workshop dialogues were moderated by Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Fuhaid, a member of the Logistics Committee in the Asharqia Chamber. ​
